  • The responsibilities and ethical boundaries in a mentoring relationship

  • How to create an effective structure to support the journey

  • The fundamental skills and tools needed to stimulate communication, create interactions, facilitate reflection, and manage diversity

Features

ENTIRELY ONLINE

The programme is conceived and designed to maximize the possibilities offered by technology. Entirely delivered online, it includes access to a comprehensive collection of materials, tools, and resources for consultation and download, as well as our e-learning platform designed to enhance mutual sharing and support within the learning community.

30 HOURS OF TRAINING

The programme includes:
+ Live Session with a Certified Mentor/Supervisor: 10 Hours
+ Mentoring Practice: 9 Hours
+ Self Study, Reflective Practice & Learning Assessment: 11 Hours

IN-CLASS SKILL PRACTICE

Participants have the opportunity to practice tools and techniques in class with an experienced professional mentor, honing their skills and developing the mentor's mindset and presence.

MENTORING SESSIONS

It is said that practice makes perfect. This is why the programme requires each participant to deliver at least 9 hours of mentoring to a mentee external to the programme.
Participants can choose their own mentee, or request the Academy to propose one.

GROUP SUPERVISION

It is crucial for mentors to be supported during their learning journey. Participants have the opportunity to bring their practical challenges and dilemmas into Group Supervision sessions with a Certified Supervisor.

REFLECTION & ASSESSMENT

One learns from experience and, above all, from reflecting on the experience. Participants are supported in their individual self-reflection and assessment through tailor-made questionnaires and exercises.

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN DESIGN

New mentors are required to design a detailed personal development plan for the following three years. The plan may include: attending additional training courses, participating in mentoring programmes, and applying the new set of skills in their day-to-day job.

ACCESS TO EMCC CREDENTIALS

The Mentor Foundation Programme is accredited with the EMCC Global Quality Award (EQA) at Foundation level. Thanks to this benchmark quality standard, participants who have at least 50 hours of mentoring practice can automatically qualify for the EMCC Global Individual Accreditation (EIA).

Methodology

Knowing mentoring

The first module provides an overview of the evolution of mentoring from its origins to current fields of professional application, including both individual and group mentoring.

Doing mentoring

The second module focuses entirely on the skills and tools of the mentor. We will start by exploring the responsibilities and limitations of this role and then learn the skills needed to stimulate communication, create interactions, facilitate reflection and manage diversity.

Being a mentor

The third and final module includes the creation of the participant's portfolio and personal development plan, a series of labs to practice what has been learnt, and the final verification of acquired skills and knowledge.

OBSERVED PRACTICE AND SUPERVISION

One learns from experience and, above all, from reflecting on the experience. To hone their skills, participants have the opportunity to practise while being observed by certified mentors and receive feedback. Furthermore, by reflecting on real cases with certified supervisors, they refine the mentor’s mindset, presence, and ethical approach.

Small
Cohorts

The program is offered in small cohorts starting in January, May, and September.
Participants have up to 12 months of access to the programme and can decide the pace at which they attend lessons: from a fast track approach (4 months) to a take-it-easy one (12 months).

Mentoring Sessions

It is said that practice makes perfect. This is why the programme requires each participant to deliver at least 18 hours of mentoring to a mentee external to the programme. Participants can choose their own mentee, or request the Academy to propose one.

ACCESS TO CREDENTIALS

Participants are assisted in the preparation of the Mentoring Personal Portfolio that MentorLab submits directly for the EMCC Global Individual Accreditation (EIA).
